Professional Highlights:
Robert Freedman is a native Houstonian and has 20 years experience as a practicing attorney in the United States and 4 years experience as a researcher and lobbyist with a major international environmental organization in The Netherlands.

Upon graduating from the University of Houston, Bates of College of Law, Mr. Freedman worked as an attorney in a general civil practice and in 1980 became a shareholder in White, Freedman & Associates, P.C, in Houston, Texas. In 1990 Mr. Freedman, eager for a change, relocated
to Amsterdam, where he joined the Political Unit of Greenpeace International as a researcher and lobbyist. Robert said, “although the lion’s share of my time was spent researching and writing about emerging trends in international environmental law, the most exciting part of my work was the lobbying." Most lobbying was before international inter-governmental bodies: the European Union in Brussels and the United Nations Environmental Programme in Geneva. "In Europe lobbying is a respected profession and is not looked at in the same way as in the United States.” Robert studied at the University of Amsterdam and became fluent in Dutch. That assisted him in consulting with Americans, Dutch and Belgium nationals doing business together. Robert returned to the states in 1995 and resumed a civil practice, but also began his career in teaching. When Robert is not preparing and teaching future paralegals and legal researchers at the Center, he continues with the practice of law as a shareholder in the firm of Mulder & Freedman, P.C. His practice has a strong emphasis in Medicaid Asset Protection Planning and Estate Planning.

Teaching:
Robert Freedman has been teaching at the Center for Advanced Legal Studies for 14 years. His strong organizational, interpersonal and research skills has lead him to become known as the “research expert” aka “the research guy” among his students! He has been approved to teach Legal Research and Writing; Corporate and Business Law; Civil Procedure; Real Estate; Wills, Trusts and Probate; Introduction to Law and Ethics and Family Law.

Loved his style of teaching. He is demanding and tough. But you graduate as a good reseacher.

I thoroughly enjoyed Legal Research with Mr. Freedman. Some call him demanding....I think thorough is much more appropriate. His class was great and I walked away with more than just knowledge on legal researach.
