Center For Advanced Legal Studies hosted its first Career Symposium on Wednesday, October 20.  Students had the opportunity to talk to two Houston firm administrators and one placement agency owner, who shared important information about building a proper resume, perfecting interviewing skills, and expectations of an entry level paralegal. Carol J. Wooldridge, Firm Administrator at Johnson, Deluca Kennedy & Kurisky, P.C., Linda D. Perez, Office Manager at Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold LLP, and Jo Schorp, Owner of Charter Staffing shared their experience in the field and the importance of networking and preparedness when trying to obtain a position in a legal firm. Placement Director, Tina Ghanavati felt that this information was pertinent to share with our students who are seeking a successful career in the legal profession. 

A competition was held for best resume and interviewing skills.  Jeanine Richardson displayed a well created resume that allowed her to take the prize for Best Resume.  Stephanie Bandy demonstrated her impressive ability to perform a flawless interview in a room full of students.  Her expertise helped her win Best Interviewing Skills.
