Paralegal Schools

Those who are interested in working in the legal field but do not have the desire or the resources to return to law school at the present time may consider attending a paralegal school. With their legal training, paralegals assist lawyers with a wide range of tasks. They do nearly everything attorneys do, including preparing for cases and investigating case facts. Students who are currently enrolled in a four-year school may tailor their coursework to obtain the training needed to be paralegals.

Types of Paralegal Schools and Training Programs

For those who have already graduated from school with different majors, courses in a certificate program are strong options. Depending on the nature of the certificate program, the courses can be completed in as little as one year. Some of the programs available have been approved by the ABA. Though these paralegal programs are not required by all law firms or companies, completing a program at one of these schools can open more doors. In addition to certificate programs, some schools also offer associate's degrees that provide training in the paralegal profession for individuals who do not have college degrees. Obtaining an associates degree or certificate can not only provide students with more job opportunities, but also higher potential salaries.

Prospective students interested in becoming paralegals will find an associate's program and a certificate program that have been approved by the ABA at the Center For Advanced Legal Studies. To learn more about the programs, contact the school by phone at (800) 446-6931 or (713) 529-2778 or by submitting an online request.
